Meet Shelby, the heart and soul behind The Babe Cave studio, a wife, and mother of two beautiful girls.
My journey in photography began unexpectedly when I found myself pregnant, altering my path from aspiring lawyer to a passionate photographer after leaving university to raise babies. With 2 back to back pregnancies, photography allowed me to create my own hours, working around my husbands schedule without putting them in daycare. Over the last decade, I specialized in newborn, maternity, and cake smash photography, capturing precious moments for countless families. I had dabbled in boudoir a little bit here and there, and truly felt that was my new calling.
Around two years ago, I decided to take a step back and focus on my true passion: boudoir photography. What started as a part-time endeavor quickly evolved into a deep love for empowering women through intimate portraiture and made me want to take it full time. It led me to invest in a studio space in September 2020, with a commitment to going full-time with boudoir in January 2022. And let me tell you, it’s been a journey with absolutely no regrets.
My goal is to create an empowering and classy experience, providing women of all shapes and sizes the opportunity to embrace their unique beauty. In my studio, there’s no such thing as a “perfect” body type – every body that walks through the door is perfect just as it is.
I guide my clients every step of the way, demonstrating poses and ensuring they feel comfortable and confident. The sessions, initially nerve-wracking, transform into an enjoyable and liberating experience. The same-day reveal session during regular boudoir sessions (not minis/ or boudie calls) is truly special, creating a genuine connection as we go through the photos together, riding that boudoir “high.”

Hey I'm Cierra!!
I am a fat activist, speaker and coach with a passion for bringing awareness to the injustices and fatphobia in the fashion and fitness industry and beyond. I strive to help people feel comfortable and confident in their bodies at any size so that they can live a magical life. I have been learning about and doing makeup on myself, family and friends since I was a teenager. Within the last year, I have decided to take the leap and start working professionally and it has been an absolute dream! I love bringing out the natural beauty in my clients, but also love a full sexy, glam moment too!
